Mismanagement of the Municipality

mmmm...
Snaaks hoe almal op hulle perdjie spring oor n waterverhoging....
The problem is least of all a price increase. Let's face it, water has not increased in a couple years
and an increase is most probably due...This being said, water should then have increased by the stipulated 10% per annum rate and not by 100% overnight.
Please don't get me wrong, I'm not at all happy with the water increase, but let's look at the bigger picture before making a mountain of the WRONG molehill:
The irony is that everyone using this forum and moaning, CAN actually afford the water increase (no, I'm not saying that you can just chuck money out the window, but you are using this forum, which allows me the assumption that you can afford internet access, which is far less necessary than something crucial such as water = u can afford spending time money/chatting on the forum= u CAN afford the increase.)
BUT there are those who can't. No, I'm not referring to the friends of the municipality with their bills of N$ 17 000 in arrears who are still being supplied, but those who actually had their water cut off.
There are some badly hit households in town and in Nomtsoub which barely could keep their heads above water with the inflation being what it is and who are now really suffering.
So how about not moaning about water but rather about MISMANAGEMENT of the municipality, throughout the years which has brought us to the current situation. Water is the least of our problems, and solving this crisis will only cover up the lunacracy that has brought us here in the first place. Present the government with a report of Tsumeb Municipality's mismanagement over the years, and maybe, by exposing the combined loopholes that lead to ourcurrent situation we will actually be able to help those worst hit.
To me it seems that everyone here is just mad about an price increase. As I said, we can all afford that.If it's the integrity of our municipality that anyone is concerned about, that point should have been made earlier....

Dodgy accounts
I know of a woman living on less than N$500. That paid her account in full. on the following bill she was suddenly outstanding an amount exceeding N$10 000.
when we queried this the explanation was thy discovered an outstanding amount on the previous owners account.my first reaction was WTF
wasn't the municipality supposed to sort this out before or during a ownership change? not a couple of years after
